Help to First Responders
Some pieces of work just come with extra feel-good built in. Our work with Stroll Insurance is one of those. Representing the newest of Northern Ireland’s digital only car insurance providers, we’ve been delighted to have the chance to get to know Stroll. We feel that even more so now that Stroll’s MD Brian Allen has explained how his brush with critical care encouraged him to pledge £21K to Community First Responders.
Life on hold
As an active and healthy young father, in the midst of planning a family holiday, Brian was surprised to receive a phone call from his doctor advising him to go immediately to hospital. After an essential heart procedure that necessarily put his life hold, Brian, already a St. John’s Ambulance volunteer decided he wanted to do something more signifiant to help.
Donating for the future
Recognising the remarkable demands on Northern Ireland’s Ambulance Service, Brian and Stroll agreed to donate £21,000 over three years. Funds would go to support the Mid Down and Lisburn District Community First Responders group. The donation will allow the CFR to train more volunteers as well as purchase essential equipment (including defibrillators, pulse oximeter fingertip readers, blood pressure monitors, responder kit bags and branded polo shirts). And to offer essential support in the community. With over 1,500 out of hospital cardiac arrest taking place in Northern Ireland each year and only a 10% survival rate, we hope that the existence of timely and trained help could make all the difference.
Thank you Brian and the Stroll team for your extraordinary contribution to the community.
