Education at every level
We could not be more proud of our General Manager of Recruitment Marketing Susannah Hylands. In May 2022, her commitment to education at every level has earned her accreditation as a member of the IPA (MIPA), joining the ranks of the most highly recognised advertising professionals. Susannah’s award acknowledges her career-long commitment to continued professional development and her unerring drive and enthusiasm for the industry. Taking specialist courses in Advertising Law, Commercial Aspects of Business, and Climate Change among others, Susannah has balanced the demands of her MIPA work with her remarkable achievements within our agency and we’re delighted to celebrate her hard work.
Council of PANI
Not stopping there, Susannah was nominated to the Council of PANI (Publicity Association Northern Ireland) and leads the Education focus. She works closely with Ulster University and NI advertising agencies in order to develop the PANI Education Programme. The programme allows students in advertising and design in Ulster University to be paired up with an agency in order to work on a live brief. Offering a real taste of agency life at this early career stage is invaluable to both students and agencies as it drives the future workforce and the desire to work in an agency environment.
The path to real experience
Before her tenure at ASG Susannah completed her degree in French and Spanish and then went on to a Masters Degree in Communication, Advertising and PR. At the time she noticed it was a challenge to secure real experience in agencies and so now, being in the position to help students in the same situation is extremely rewarding. This year, along with 8 other agencies, ASG & Partners welcomed a team from Ulster University and were thrilled to offer them the opportunity to work on a live brief for local charity – Parenting NI. The winners of the programme went on to see their work live on various media formats whilst helping a charity receive advertising exposure that wouldn’t have been possible without the PANI programme. What an incredible opportunity to see their work come to life!
So from continued professional development to securing the education and experience of future agency generations, Susannah has made an invaluable contribution to our team, and to the wider industry. Congratulations Susannah!
